Biggest Day at Mav’s ever?

Everyone is calling last Tuesday “the big ugly”, when the first big swell of the year hit mavericks. Huge crew of big wave surfers made it out, surfing 50-80 foot waves. You couldn’t watch from shore because it was too foggy.

Anyway, the details:

• Surfer Darryl Virostko a.k.a. “Flea” had arguably the largest wipeout in Mav’s history. You can see pictures of the accident here, and a video of the accident here – unreal.
